What is an accessory that you notice a person wearing before any other? A hat.
That’s what I love about hats; they stand out and illustrate your individuality without you having to say a word. I learnt this as a young kid alongside the importance of quality.
Helping my Grandad out on what I called ‘Cooper Ranch’, hats were necessary when working on the farm, so long as it was of good quality. If it couldn’t be stomped on by a bull or survive the rough and tumble of the paddocks, it was no good. When my style evolved from farm hand to city slicker, I could never find anything that looked good for a gig, whilst also meeting my standard of strength and longevity.
So, I established M.J. Cooper Hats in pursuit of quality and personal style. This and the desire to inspire individuality is what informs the entire hat making process.
The end result being a one-off design that I have handcrafted from sustainably sourced, quality materials that will last the test of time.
